cheats?

Hi,
Satyam Info Way (SIFY http://www.sify.com/ and http://www.satyam.com) are a
bunch of lousy cheats! My friend bought a “Unlimited” dial up pack from
a shop in Bangalore of 300 odd bucks. Apparently “Unlimited” in sify
terminology implies “Unlimited usage for 6 hours".

He was surprised after configuring his modem, at finding his usage at
1/2 an hour on a brand new pack. He called up Sify. They told him
that every connect/disconnect was billed at 5 minutes!

If he exceeded the 6 hour limit he would then be penalized..not sure
but i think he lost 1 day of usage..

Sify cyber cafe's may be ok.
However- "broadband home access" has along way to go. Especially the people sitting in the customer care should be taught some atticates. They make childish and unprofessional excuses for LONG downtimes.
We suffered a 18 hrs downtime, just because no one came and switched on the last mile switch/networking device,even after repeated calls!! This has already happened SEVERAL times.
We work from home. Who will compensate us for the damages/ loss of work hours and in the ultimate case, loss of job.
This loss is converted to the time of more than 3 business people exchanging mails and having business discussion over the net!!

There is no ticket based system and no accountability of uptime. In this age of ISP's, I am amazed how sify is running a business without customer focus.
IS THERE ANY ORGANIZATION (LIKE TRAI IS FOR CELL NETWORK) - WHERE I CAN COMPLAIN FORMALLY AGAINST SUCH THIEFS (Theifs because- bandwidth and uptime is money)!!
Also- I need people in my area to contact me and create some change. Writing on forums is useless unless we do something about it!!
