Being one of the BSNL customers

It’s hightime we start demanding what we really deserve as a broadband customer. Being one of the BSNL customers personally I know pain in dealing with these babus. As far as my case is concerned, these bastards are demanding an explanation for my high usage (23GB/mo) of my UL900 account. This is a landmark judgement for all of us to fight with these bastards.

I was in the process of approaching Sify. Saved.
Do you folks have some broadband provider you can reccommend. I do not have Airtel or BSNL where I live in Bangalore.. near PES college 50ft road, Hanumantanagar.

I think that this should help all the subcribers. I am also another frustrated sify customer who gets pathetic download speeds. I hope sify and other broadband providers in India take notice and improve their service.

A definite win for us consumers

A definite win for us consumers. I moved away from Sify because of the change in my local ISP, which was great because Sify started to get extremely frustrating.

SIFY BroadBand to pay for Unfair Trade Practices

Delhi’s North-West District Consumer Forum has by its order dated 08 Nov �06 directed India’s ISP SIFY Ltd (SIFY Broadband) to pay compensation of Rs 8,200/- including refund of Rs 1,200 paid for two months internet connection to a consumer, Ankur Raheja, an IT lawyer by profession for indulging Unfair Trade Practices and deficiency in service.

The case related to non disclosure of significant terms and conditions, which included hidden conditions that after downloading of 750 MB data in a month the speed would be reduced to 14 Kbps and also a new condition that if a customer downloaded more than 150 MB data in a day, then he was penalized in the form of reduction of package validity by one day, but still packages were advertised as unlimited.

It has been regarded as a landmark judgment as for the first time technical deficiency has been proved in the court of law in India against an Internet Company. And further Court interpreted the matter from the point of view of definition of Broadband as laid down by TRAI, which lays down criterion of minimum speed of 256 Kbps to be regarded as Broadband. Accordingly, Court has held providing of 14 Kbps speed instead of 256 Kbps is in itself a �deficiency in service’.

It has also been held that SIFY BroadBand has poor customer service that did not redress to Customer complaints and selling packages as �Unlimited Packages’ when there existed Hidden conditions, amounts to deficiency in service on the part of SIFY Limited and indulging into unfair trade practices.

The case was supported in the Cyber World by hundreds of SIFY customers from all over India, who all experienced similar problems and supported the case throughout, whose testimonials were also included in the original complaint as Annexure!

i was a sify user

i was a sify user i had a good service from them. But suddenly one day i found the speed is slow and some connectivity problem i spoke to the sify guys but the problem was not solved. i shouted at them. i thought that the problem is with sify but found from my hardware engg that its my sytem problem. “we should check the system also is my lesson i got”

I have sify broadabnd connection

I have sify broadabnd connection.Got it renewed twice,I ahve confirmed with my credit card company and today I recd a call from their local supplier for this month payment collection.Though 17 days have passed and inspite of daily calls, sms and mails they have not renewed my account not have they bothered to refund the excess payment.
I am really sick and tired of theri services!!!

I recently purchased SIFY BROADBAND. It sucks (as usual), and this download thig is really killin me. I can barely download using my browser (forget download accelerators). I’m seriously pissed off. I almost completely have forgotten any kind of download from the internet thru the browser. I use lots of torrent downloads and p2p’s now…

Im 4m mumbai! i have been using sify from past 2-3years, was 1 of da 1st customer in our area! i still hav sify, and i hav to pay 2 times a month for da same 128unlimited pacakage- 612rs.
sify is truly a fraud company! if they didnt wish to give out unlimited connection they should never have told us in the startin about unlimited pacakges! its da only reason why most of sify users stay on sify! i feel betrayed, customer satisfaction= 0!

I fell ashamed that sify is an indian company. sify braodband is a really fraud. they dont have tha values of the person.
Very partial & chuck out from the company just like a fly from the milk.
All the seniors in the company are fraud.

even cable goes out sometimes!

Nothing..neither does he ask for nething..downtime is hardly there....mostly coz of problems@ my building ..even cable goes out sometimes!

I renew my internet package online

I renew my internet package online (http://shopping.sify.com) and I pay the BASE price for the package (night plan = Rs. 561.20/-) and my CTO charges Rs.575.00 if I get it renewed from his end -- Luckily my CTO is not charging me anything additional -- and I'd give it out to him and his network maintenance -- Hardly 3-4 hours downtime for the whole month !!! (SIFY IS GOOD, its just the CTO that screw everything up for you)

n then i spoke to this guy called THOMAS ..GUESS WHAT HE TELL ME WHEN I SD MY ACCOUNT IS ECIPRED I ALRDY PAID LAST WEEK...HE SAYS I WILL RAISE A COMPLAINT..I SD HOW LONG HE SAY..HMMMMM I THINKKKKKKKK LIKE 12 HOURS...

I SD WHAT 12 HRS..HE SAYS HEY MAM LISTEN..JUST KEEP QUIET..THEN HE SAYS SHUT UP...

I REALLY DID NOT XPECT THIS....I CALLED THE MANAGER..HE JUS SAYS SORRYYY..THATS IT..AND SAYS IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE...


GODDDDDDD I HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SIFYYYYYYYY IT SUCKS.
