I am facing lots of problem at ur high speed internet in 64 kbps link u are giving 1.24 kbps that mean 12kbps link speed

They also blocked POP mail access and SMTP access

I agree with this. I just don't know why these things happen.

Does this fall under blockign right to have access to internet

resources ? Is there any genuine reson for blocking those port

accesses ?

Also if somebody gives same access via http port, will there be

any reason to block that too ?

I had a terrible experience with the Sify Salesperson last week. My apartment has around 40 connections of Sify already, but despite that this salesperson has not been able to followup on his commitments on installation. On top of it, when I was upset about the initial lethargy that I faced and I talked tough to him, the way he responded was too arrogant for a Sales person. Typical behaviour of a monopoly, but unacceptable from a Private Company. I would like to escalate this matter. Do you know of any Senior Management emails/phones who I can complain to?

I agree with you that SIFY SUCKS. I am located at Vaishali(Delhi NCR region). I purchased Sify Broadband connection one
year back and almost 70% of the time when I tried to connect to the internet, the connectivity was down. Then I have to
call up the SIFY Local business partner, Vaishali Infosystem. Their turnaround time to close the call is also not
satisfactory. At times, they would take days to restore the local netywork. I am simply fed-up with the kind of service
they are providing and they bugging service comes at a monthly LINE MAINTENANCE cost of Rs.100/- over and above the cost
of the package that I purchase. I have lodged several complaints with the SIFY customer care but I have NOT got a lasting
solution to all my complaints. I am not sure till how long will SIFY continue to cheat its Customers. I think that its a
high time that we customers approach Consumer Court for the relief and make SIFY either hounour their commitment towards
its customer base or pay the price for NOT honouring its commitments of "undisrupted connectivity" to the net. You can

poor / worse / worst service

This is sathya and I wish to tell some of the problems I’m facing with the SIFY BROADBAND. I bought a sify broadband connection from one of their dealers / Franchisee at Arumbakkam, Chennai on July and is said to me that the connection will be received in 3 days. But I received connection only after 5 days. First itself, there is very slow in their process of connecting the cable.
After getting connection, I was told by their dealer / Franchisee that they may be contacted directly if any problem arises regarding connectivity. I informed them many times but I don’t have any complaint number. And finally I was continuously not able to connect 3 days first and subsequently for 16 days. In the middle of those days, when I contacted their customer care office I have been informed that my problem will be solved in 12 working hours and that itself took more than a week for them to reconnect my connection. I don’t know whether the Sify works for their dealer / franchisee or the dealer / franchisee work for the sify and still I’m not able to determine who is the boss amongst them.

And again from December end to the middle of January i.e., within a period of 20 days, I complained the customer care of Sify about 8 times for continous disconnection while browsing (Always the same error : Check with local cable network and unable to reach the gateway) but that was not solved till now by them. They are only eager in their money making but not doing the work well and good. If the work is done well, I think there will not be any disconnection and I don’t need to call their customer care frequently. They gave only temporary solution and not a permanent solution. The customer care of Sify always says that they are only complaint receiving team and they have to contact their technical team regarding each and every complaint and they were not able to give me an exact scenario of my complaint. And I hope that in my area these problem occurs again and again and the Sify dealer / Franchisee is careless and even Sify customer care is careless on my complaints. The Sify team should know how to make connections without disconnectivity and they should learn a lesson atleast after seeing this.

As an ISP their job is to give continous internet connection without disconnectivity every second i.e.,60*60*24*7 without fail, but they failed to do that. One of their representative said, there is some problem at the connection point and problem is due to that only. But they are not giving me permanent solution even after knowing that problem. Why cant they think of that before when I asked for new connection (Only money is their motive at that time). After paying initial amount for connection, they didn’t even install any other external devices like modem etc, as a property of our own. Its just a cable running inside and outside for their connection.

I bought Sify broadband to just browse and explore all and for games and to relax a bit. But that itself has became a burden to me and it gets me in high tentions resulting no peace of mind and lots of mental agony. I request that I may be advised how to file a Consumer case against them by telling the mistakes in detail about them and their dealer / Franchisee and how can I claim money due to mental embarrassment by them for their poor / worse / worst service and also how to teach them a lesson while giving connection to another persons.

invariably be out of order every weekend. The service was so bad I thought they had a problem with me until I found your
site. The good news however is that I have had no problems for the last 3 months - except that inspite of reminding them
five times to come and pick up their payment ( for renewal) no one has come so far. I had a DSL Dishnet connection earlier
(for 2 years) but believe me they were worse than sify. I have another Hathway connection which is comparable with sify -
except that in Hathway customer service never responds - they simply have a tape recording whenever there is a problem
that they have a problem which they are sorting out!!!

Think

I have taken up a Unlimited Broadband service from sify and most of the times the connectivity is not there. The Sify
Customer Service is one of the most worst service. I call them up on a dialy basis and still things are not right. Think
twice before subscribing to Sify Broadband.

i have had a mixed experience with sify broadband, sometimes on 64 kbps unlimited package they give 96 and currently 128kbps
speed but on other days you cant even get connected

morever that sh***y 150 mb per day download limit doesn't seem to make life easier.



In my opinion DSL based connections are particularly good coz few of my friends have airtel 128kbps unlimited connection and
surprisingly download speed seldom goes below 20.you can say grass is greener on the other side ,still i think airtel is
worth a try

HORRORS OF SIFY VIZAG - A NEW LOW IN CUSTOMER CARE.
Beware of Sify in Vizag. Here the service is run by a franchisee 'Vaishno Communications'. As is the habit of the obnoxious laid-back attitude of the person who work here in almost all the MNC brands, the same applies to Sify's functioning here.
After getting sick & tired of making many complaints to their call centre- which I am sure not recorded or regsitered at all in the first place- I am constrained to use this blog to vent my anger.
I am a hapless customer of Sify Broabdband. When I first applied for the connection, they promptly landed up near my doorstep to collect the money and then they dissappeared for a good 14 days despite my phone calls. Then they gave the connection and the very next day, the internet connection was gone.
Just imagine when I got the internet back? After 27 days. Can you beat that? I mean are we living in some communist country? They are truly unashamed. They were indifferent to my outcry.
Then, eventually they restored the connection and sent the monthly bill! and they gave me charity of 7 days paymnet waiver! I thought things would get normal. But I was wrong. Every Second Day the connection goes off.
The longest period of Sify's continous connectivity was 4 days. That's it. The new trend is that when the connection is up and running, a guy from Sify would ring the bell and ask if the internet connection was okay. Once he leaves after 1 hour or so, the damn connection is off again.
I can bet on this. Sify SUCKS big time. I don't know if the guys who are supposed to monitor these employees of the Franchisee are sleeping or just ignoring customers like us.
Come festival time and the Sify Franchisee guys behave that it is their birth right NOT to attend to your complaint. Wait until the festival season is through!
To top all this, when the payment date arrives, indicated by their client, when I call them to come and collect the payment, they don't and the connection gets expired and gets restored only after a day.
If Vizag has to atleast match Pune, Coimbatore, Surat (Forget cities viz. Hyderabad etc. with such sick mentality - NO CHANCE), atleast, all of us vizagites should 'teach' these guys here a lesson or two and be PERSISTENT in getting things done.
IF YOU ARE SERIOUS BUSINESSMAN OR A PERSON WHO NEED TO HAVE GOOD AND ALWAYS ON CONNECTIVITY, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR SIFY. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR COOL PRETTY SOON. YOU BETTER OPT FOR DATAONE FROM BSNL OR EVEN IQARA BROADBAND - IQARA GUYS ARE MUCH MUCH BETTER COMPARED TO SIFY.
A VERY VERY ANOOYED CUSTOMER. IF ANY MEMBER OF SIFY MANAGEMENT IS READING THIS, MY SIFY ID IS globalex123. AS I HAVE MADE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ALREADY OVER PHONE, I HAVE NO PATIENCE LEFT. THIS IS PERHAPS THE ONLY WAY TO ATLEAST SAVE OTHER GUYS FROM THE HORRORS OF YOUR SERVICE.

worst connection that i have ever used in my whole life

I have tried & let me tell u that it is the worst connection that i have ever used in my whole life. First its in hand of cable oprators with no expirence of lan or wan secondly sify is very slow and prone to unauthorized access if you dont know how to prevent.

I am a highly dissatisfied client of SIfy broadband. It is the worst service to get. There is no prompt action taken despite
of several complaints lodged. I am sure other service providers do a much better job in terms of customer satisfaction. Not
only the internet rates of sify are high, the quality of their service is extremely low. Every other week my internet does
not work and it takes them atleast 4-5days to resolve the issue. Despite of making innumerable calls, no engineer or any
other help is provided. I beleive the sify technical team and the customer service are untrained and are just enjoying the
salary paid out of the pockets of their customers.I would never recommend sify to anyone and if the sify problems still
persist, i will get the services of another internet provider.

I had Sify broadband earlier

I had Sify broadband earlier. The service was the worst one could get - Lots of downtime. Most of the problems were
actually due to the local cable operator. Recently shifted over to BSNL - so far so good :). I would recommend the same to
you. I have taken Home - 500 plan on that(for Rs 500/- one gets 1GB a month at 256 kbps with night 2PM - 8 AM free
download). Installation charges that i had to pay were 1248/- (this was the one time fee for buying the modem - this is
the cheapest option available if you want to buy). Have'nt tried Airtel as they dont provide service in my area

still waiting for an answer from sify

I have raised this issue recently and am still waiting for an answer from sify.Has anybody else also faced this??
The issue and the background is as follows.
I am a resident of Dwarka,New delhi.My user id is ody_131313 and my plan is night unlimited @256kbps for which i pay Rs 545 monthly.Every month a sify executive calls me up and verifies whether i'd like to renew my account to which my answer is invariably yes,then he automatically renews the account and picks up the cheque from my residence.After the payment i usually check "My Account" details to make sure that the account has been renewed.
This month to my suprise i saw that the plan has been changed to NIGHT+WEEKEND as mentioned on plan details.I was thrilled that sify is now offering weekends also,duly i logged on sat and sun whole day.On 01-01-06 when i tried to login to my account it gave me an"account expired no 530'" error.I called up sify and the executive said that renewal ppl come only in the morning and the issue shall be resolved,and as he had said teh issue was resolved.
On 08-01-06,again a Sunday(yesteday) when trying to login i faced the same error, this time when i called Sify they informed me that on weekends 8 am to 10 pm there is a restriction of 150 MB and hence i've overshot the limit and the account has expired.For me to use the account again i need to pay and get it re-activated,out of courtesy Sify offered me a 2 day complimentary pack which i refused.When asked where is it mentioned that 150 Mb restriction exists,i was told to visit the sify website.
My queries are
1. Is it not my Service Providers duty and responsibilty to "Provide" me with all information rather than the existing customer having to go the Website and hunt for information?
I was not even informed that my plan has changed, it is due to my own efforts as mentioned above that i got to know that the plan has changed.
The information was not provided by
a.The person who called and asked to renew my account
b.150 mb is not explicitly mentioned anywhere in "MY account" details ,also in "Plans" it just says Unlimited Night+Weekeneds
c. The executive i spoke with on 01-01-06 also did not mention any limit or give me any information
2. As a customer am i supposed to think of various loops to an offer rather than believe my ISP.I was repeatedly told by executives at Sify that i COULD have checked my account details from the website before using it.Sify also COULD have notified me before selling me a changed produt.I see no reason why an existing customer should go to the website to his/her own Account details,it should be available on his own console.
I would want an answer to my queries and if you think im being unreasonable please cite your views but as a customer I REFUSE TO PAY RE-ACTIVATION CHARGES for the valid period for which i have already paid.I strongly believe its a lapse on SIfy's end ,total negligence wherein the customer is not being informed about changes in his/her own account

sify bb does not connect to connect

hi,can anybody help me out.

nowadays my sify bb does not connect to connect .whenever i try to connect to ,an error occurs saying that my ip address is
being used by another computer on the network and so the local area interface is disabled.i contacted the sify customer too,
but he denies that my ip address being given to other computer on the network.

i think somebody illegally works with my ip address and it is untraceable.please help me out to remove this problem.

I back evryone who critisizes Sify broadband. I wonder how they are still surviving. Even their topmost oficials are totally
irresponsible.They have their broadband leased to people who own footware shops and cooldrink parlours.What more can we
expect out og them?????
