guys sick of sify im finally planning to get dataone

guys sick of sify im finally planning to get dataone.. however i have read some conflicting opinions from dataone users.. there is this group who is really pleased with it and then still another thats had some bad experience.. i understand that this is the case with almost every isp but could someone please clarify these two issues :

1) the uptime - the reason that i am shifting to dataone from sify is bec of frequent downtime.. now the connection not working at the promised speed that i can handle.. downtime i cannot.. ive just faced three days of downtime and reached my limit... :angry:

2) there have been some issues abt inflated bills recieved by various users.. have any of you faced that problem? is the dataone system for counting the download data used accurate and reliable? cause i really dont look forward to recieving an inflated bill.. say wat u want abt sify bt atleast its prepay.. dont know abt u guys but reduction of a day in validity sounds better than having to pay hardearned $ lol

and thirdly which modem would u guys recommend.. i need one that would work reliably with linux.. thanks in advance :rolleyes:

I dont want to add no more complaints here, because all Tech probs mentioned in this forum also happened to me.
They are UNFIT to run this business.I’m tired of running after customer care (?)call center.

I too am being cheated by sify

I too am being cheated by sify. For the past 2 months i cannot get a continuse Ping from the Gateway. The sify enginner’z have blamed every thing from my Computers to the cable to the switch to the server to the fiber link. Everytime i call the madras number the same story like puppet’s they say SORRY will look into the matter. I guess all the Call center guy’z are paid only to say sorry. Their free night surfing is a joke coz I just cannot connect in the night. I will be leaving this sorry ISP SIFY is truely (Satyam Is ******* You) SIFY are CHEATERS A Disguested User. Roymario.

SIFY is FRAUD Company

I had taken 256 Kbps 1 GB connection from SIFY Broadband in Delhi in Dec 2005. The connection worked for 10 minutes. Then it stopped working. I was told by the Local vendor that they are shifting the server and the connection will be restored in 2-4 hours. It was never connected again. I complaint to SIFY CUSTOMER CARE. They gave me a complaint no and told me that within 12 hours the problem will be solved.Nothing happened despite everyday complaint for complete month. The height was SIFY people rang me up for renewal of the connection.
SIFY is FRAUD Company. They swellow money of yours and never provide service for which they carge. I wrote many email and almost every day lodged complaint but no remedy. Please do not have any business with the cheat company like SIFY.

Stop bitching about Sify

Come-on Guys. Stop bitching about Sify. I think that they provide a wonderful service. When you call their customer care the executives are rather nice. They always escalate my complaint to a higher level.
So the delayed response is not because of bad service in sify. It is only because the call is never escalated high enough to reach someone with brains and conscience. And going by their support chaps who drop in when you get lucky, and going by their service, it might take a long time before the call is escalated to that level.
Oh yes, and their Internet does not work. But can you blame them ? Not really. After all they are just craving for getting their license cancelled and public flogging on their backside (or even in front of the backside).
so I believe we should do something like that. One only wishes that they curb their ad budget and invest in real technology. At present they seem to be using a human being (if they may be called so) who sits at the end of your phone line, reads each byte you send to it and personally goes and types that byte on a console attached to their network.
I am just so tempted to use profanity, so I guess having pointed out what sify really stands for, I might as well sign off…
And by the way, incase you are wondering…. if I was using Sify to post this message, I dont think it would have ever landed up here.
Sent over sify, the max i’d be able to post is probably “SIFY SUCKS” - that too if I logged in at 3:30 AM….

Sify has improved a lot

Hey!! Guys …. I think Sify has improved a lot…. I am talking about 2006 … I am using Sify connection in Chennai. They have a very good package where the download is really unlimited on a 256 K pack !!! This package is valid between 10:00 PM & 8:00 AM, aimed at Youth, who prefers to browse at night after their daylong activities. There are times when over a night I downloaded some 900 MB of data. Also this package offers 150 MB of free data at day times too on weekends. Its really a superb package !!! I recommend this package for all my youth friends.

useless provider

Recently taken broadband connection with Sify(useless provider).
It worked hardly for couple of weeks after that nothing.
Raised 20 complaints no use.
i would suggest better not to use sify.
Frustrated & exhausted Customer.
Is there anyway i go to Consumer court for this.

Sify connection has been horrible, instead of connecting to internet, I spend all my time calling them for help and shooting my telephone bill. its bb101 error all the time. for godsake dont go for it.

Sify moved one notch up in its annoying behaviour for me

Sify moved one notch up in its annoying behaviour for me. I got a call from its rep around 20 Jan for account renewal with
the notification that from now onwards the renewal amount will be directly collected by an agent of Sify instead of
someone from the local CTO. I gave my consent for renewal but no one comes to collect the money and hasn't till today! And
instead what they're doing is refusing to log me in showing "Account Expired"! And no resolution of the problem despite 5
phone convos with their blighted CC.



So Sify isn't bothered about collecting money or delivering service. I wonder why is it up and running?? Had enough with
Sify and now going to dump it in favour or MTNL/Airtel DSL because they are finally here in my neighbourhood and Sify just
stepped on my last nerve.
