I renewed my sify connection

I renewed my sify connection ( 2 months unlimited, 64 Kbps, Rs. 945 + Rs. 50 = Rs.994 ) which came with free Mcafee virus protection. Now Sify keep sending a small message saying Service tax of 12.24% + Educational tax of 2% will be added from 19/4/06. I was told that the amount paide by me (Rs.994/- ) already includes all taxes. Is it correct or am I liable to pay any additional amount ? (Please give me the details of payments to make for my connection including the service tax & Educational tax.
Now the Mcafee virus scan icon shows that the subscription has expired and the virus management key is inactive. What is this new problem and what should be done to make this virus scan programme (given free by Sify) operative.

I am really frustrated with ther service provided by Sify

I am really frustrated with ther service provided by Sify I am 64kbps line user from sify, I faced lot of problems with sify like my internet connection was frequently disconnected and some time even network connection will broken. No one to help me in recovering the situation.

Whenever i have an urgent work to use the internet, it will be shutdown for days.. after so many compliaints to local operator and with phone calls with Sify person called Elizabeth the connection is going to recover.

Too bad to live sify but we do not have any option.

Its like taking a risk of words and works in daily life with sify broadband.

We are paying the money with hard to sify and but they are not able to understand the problems that we are facing over service provided by them.

The sify staff is like politicians.. they take complaints.. but never be solved..

sify sucks

Thw worst connection of all times with a bunch of idiots answering your calls for customer care. all ports are blocked and cant use any torrent clients. sify sucks hardcore

i bought the sify broadband 256kpbs unlimited connection for 1100 rs. reason obviously being my heavy downloads. but i am not able to use any torrent clients such as utorrent or azureus due to the NAT error. no open ports. i have been calling sify broadband customer care whre basically no one knows anything about the simplest error. i have been trying from the past 3 days. i also read a post on this page where a person said he called customer care and asked them to open port 6346. i even tried that but they are not ready to or they dont know anything about this. how do i go about this. but surely sify customer care sucks. they are a bunch of idiots

horrible customer care with absolutely no knowledge about anything

hello everyone,
I am sure many of you usng sify broadband are experiencing the same problems as i am. horrible customer care with absolutely no knowledge about anything. i took the 256 unlimited 24 hours connection paying 1100 bucks and the main reson obviously is downloads. I am not able to use any torrent clients like utorrent or azureus reason being the NAT error. no open ports. i have been calling the customer care department and they are not able to do anything about this issue. i read a post on the same page where a person called the customer care asking them to open port 6346. they are not reay to do that or maybe they dont know anything. What should i do now? any suggestions pls mail me.

My Experience With Sify Broadband

I had been using Sify 256 kbps Night Unlimited in Mohali for 1.5 years and the speed provided was as promised though there was downtimes. Then I shifted my House to another area and Had to call Sify CC for the first time to get details about the CTO operating in this area. Could not reach them on the phone for 4 days though i called at different times of the day. Then sent an email and remainder mails. No response. Then got some email ids of various people in the senior management (I mean the top level) and cc'ed them the next mail along with Customer Care.

The same night at 9 PM I got a phone call from Delhi informing that my issue will be resolved in 24 hours. Next day got a call again that It would take another day. Then It was assigned to a local cc guy in chandigarh. He informed me that he would talk to the CTO. Then he calls back and tells me that the CTO will charge 2500/- for installation. I asked him why I have to pay that much again. sure he has to lay the cable again, but woudnt 500/- be enough for that. But No they want 2500/- and the sify guy coudn't do anything about it. He never called back. Mean while I got a call from some some one in chennai, saying that my problem would be resolved. I told her that some one is already assigned to that task. I also got calls every other day from different Marketing people of sify pestering me to Renew my pack. I thought What the Hell? I didnt get satisfactory service form the Customer care, but these marketing guys are pestering me about renewal every other day even though I explained my situation. What lack of coordination between the CC and the Marketing even within the same groups.

Thats when I dicided that instead of paying these people 2500/- for the connection again, better to switch to some other ISP.

So go for Sify Broadband only

1 If you live in your own house (Not Rented)
2. You are generallly very lucky in all things (To get the proper speed and no downtime)
3. You have a lot of patience and can put up with the Customer Care.

I Paid 500 bucks towards installation of for an Airtel Connection and got rid of Sify.

sify is the worst service

sify is the worst service .never ever try the sify internet services in visakhapatnam. i am facing the problem of disconnetion every 10 to 20 min .the response from call center and local personal is worst in visakhapatnam,the reception and call handling executive here Gayatri doesnot know how to behave with customers.NEVER SUBSCRIBE TO SIFY INTERNET PACKAGES EVER IN VISAKHAPATNAM.

Sify's CTO illegally Disconnected me

I am a Sify Broadband subscriber for more than 2 and half years.

Since yesterday my CTO has disconnected my Cable . The day before yesterday he asked me to give Rs 1000 for past 5 months as " maintenance charges ' WHICH HE FORGOT TO TAKE, .Sify does not mention anywhere in its TOS as to how much service charges are payable if at all. This is totally illegal as I have already paid for the package charges which is to expire around 18th April So by disconnectiong me this CTO is resorting to a thug like attitude. I called up ypur CC yesterday and was apalled at the attitude shown sify

These Sify CTOs dont pay any service tax even. I am gonna switch to MTNL or Airtel if Sify does not respond properly

Go for BSNL broadband or any other service. Sify is the most pathetic service available in the name of hi-speed internet connection. All you will be doing is spending your money, energy, losing your peace of mind for a very very bad service. Sify CTO’s take Rs. 50 per computer from a cybercafe who illegally use their home package products and get speeds up to 20 to 30 kbps while home users spend money and get speeds of 0.2 to 0.5 kbps, i.e., less than 1 kbps which is worse than a dialup speed. Go for other broadband services if you can. Do not suffer like me. Their customercare is really pathetic.
