Standard Service Norms of Sify in Navi Mumbai:
Renewal of account takes 4 calls and 5 days.
The 24 hr helpline 1600333330 is down 50% time.The new broadband client does something to kernel32.dll and the illegal operation stuff comes up, forcing you to stopit. I stored the old client installation program on my PC and every time install it and use it once. The second time the automatic update starts and the whole hell returns.

Hi,
Satyam Info Way (SIFY http://www.sify.com/ and http://www.satyam.com) are a
bunch of lousy cheats! My friend bought a “Unlimited” dial up pack from
a shop in Bangalore of 300 odd bucks. Apparently “Unlimited” in sify
terminology implies “Unlimited usage for 6 hours".

He was surprised after configuring his modem, at finding his usage at
1/2 an hour on a brand new pack. He called up Sify. They told him
that every connect/disconnect was billed at 5 minutes!

If he exceeded the 6 hour limit he would then be penalized..not sure
but i think he lost 1 day of usage..

Hello All,

I have too joined the list of Delighted customers of sify, one of the most
stupid, worst, unreliable and all the positive flavours of my dictionary into it.
I would really like to screw up the sify guys, who are least bothered to provide
the services to the customer. I think they are no more eligible to be in the
broad band arena. This is a serious concern, and every sify customer is a
sufferer. I would like to quote this mail to top gun of Sify and pass on the
message to drop the services rather than providing poor responses and
connectivity. I request some one of you to give the right id of the right person,
wherein i can pin the voice to a place which is most uncomfortable. Without

user experience

I am a Sify broadband suscriber, user ID 'kuster'. I am a suscriber for over 3 months now and my experience of been your
customer has been frustrating and torturous.
My purpose of taking the broadband connection was to able to connect at any time of day or night and also save on my phone
bills. For the first 2 months, i had problem in connecting to the network EVERYDAY. So i had to call up the SSV cable
office (27561818, 27561919) who provide us the SIFY connection, to make my complain. And often, when the connection could
not be established even after a few hours of making the first complain i would call up again and again. I asked them the
reason for such frequent failure. I was given varied reasons ranging from, there is a lot of excavation/digging on the
roads, we are repairing connection boxes in preparation for the monsoons, power failure to one of the junction boxes
through which the cable reaches my apartment. The 'power failure to junction box' was once used as an excuse and it was
added that since the family isnt at home where the box is situated 'we cannot do anything about it'. And then i had to go
without connection for 24+ hrs. I really wonder if that is a justified reason for failure of a service that is being sold
to ppl on the ground that it can be availed to at anytime of the day, 24*7.
Day before yesterday (14/06/05), i wasnt able to connect to the network between about 3PM and 9PM. During this time i must
have made atleast 5 calls. And at about 8:30 PM when i made the final call they also told me that mines isnt the only
complain that they have to attend to. That clearly reflects on their attitude. All that SSV seems to be doing is earning
on the customer base that they have without providing any service to them. There are many other customers who feel the
same way.
Once i had complained by calling up on 1600333330. The service person how came over, I asked him where the problem
generally is, and i was told that, most of the time the problem lies with the local cable network. Now the question is,
since SIFY have given the responsibilty of the local cable network to the SSV cable in this case, is SIFY absolved of any
responsibilty, or it is also responsible for the failure of service. So far as i am concerned I am a SIFY suscriber.
Also i had problem in renewing my accounts the first time. After having confirmed that i want to renew my account, my
account was terminated. After making about a dozen calls to the SSV and sify, my account was revived. And now thats the
account has been renewed, no one has come to collect the cheque for two months.
Last but not the least i havent been able to connect to the network since yesterday (15/06/05) 3PM till now (6PM 16/06/05).
I am sending this mail from a cyber cafe. My first complain call was made on 15/06/05 at about 3PM. My last complain call
was on 16/06/05 at 4:30pm. And there is no action as yet (16/06/05, 6PM). As i told you i am frustrated by the careless
and unprofessional attitude of the local cable operators so i dont intend to make any more complain calls, only wait and
watch. This time i have also made a complain on 1600333330, complain no - 2081133. It is really very unfortunate for the
customers that SIFY is the only broadband service provider here in C.B.D., else the solution to this problem would have
been easy.
I understand that one customer makes no difference to a big ISP, but if incase you intend to take note of this mail, then
even i would like to know
1. what measures have been taken to prevent such frequent failure in future and
2. is anyone to be held responsible for the mindless failure, that has defeated the very purpose of taking a so
called BROADBAND connection, viz 24 hrs connectivity and saving on phone calls. While adding to my woes.

Are Maintainance Charges Official?

Cant we just do not pay the Maintainance Charges and if cto disconnects the wires we keep on complaining the sify cc. Lets all ask them that we have not received any written communication from sify. CC are just verbal talks so it cant be taken for paying cto. Initially nothing was agreed. Lets all stop giving the cto the Maintainance Charges . If we are united sify may be forced to send some mailers or upgrade its sick login client with a popup msg to pay the cto Maintainance Charges. Today cto and the sify are enjoying and we are suffering. we do not get the speeds we deserve. We have to pay cto extra which he does not deserve. We have to also tolarate the caps on Unlimited access per day and lose a day validity. Please share some comments to stop this.

Very true! Sify is like a hell for me, but I m helpless, there are no other internet service providers in my area. I hate

not good for high speeds

I used their 256 kbps 1 GB pack for 2 months.

Initially I was getting about 80 kbps most of time. Next after repeated
complaints and after about 15 days....i started getting b/w 225-256 kbps most of
time continuosly

Now for past 1 month the speed wud touch 256 kbps and in next second wud drop to
100 kbps in in 3rd second to 0 kbps and then back to 256 kbps.

So on an averge i wud get about 150 kbps.....

So my very purpose of buying the pack which was to watch live video broadcasts
was defeated.

Now iam on 48 kbps pack

Sify sucks......especially with high speed packs

We had taken two Sify Broadband connections under the Unlimited Range Plan in the beginning of March 2005. The connections
were taken under the usernames "citicap" and "citibazaar". We had paid for the 6 months packages for both the plans
alongwith the installation charges. The local service provider was Krishna Services, Delhi. However from day one the
connections were slow and always dropping. The connections given were through loacl lan causing lot of virus issues as
well. As we were not satisfied with the connection and the services we had asked SIFY to terminate the connections with
immediate effect i.e. March 2005.

We have sent numerous mails for the last couple of months but our complaint has neither been heard nor has any one
bothered to revert / communicate with us.

We only want our full refund of the internet connection charges after and the installation charges immediately.

Hope this forum will help us get or money back and warn other users from never using SIFY.

day only package?

I have a 128 kbps umlimited two-month subscription. But the strange part is I cannot surf at night. After 11.30 PM or 1.30
AM, the connection just dies! Its like I have an "daytime surfing only package".
I have contacted customercare five times, but got no reply. The CTO passes the buck and asks me to call sify. I am
regretting the fat that I selected this pathetic ISP. What am I supposed to do? I want to take legal action against them.
Any suggestions?

bitter experience

I was left with very bad taste and bitter experience with sify broadband and I was wondering whether to switch for bsnl/
touchtel. I think I will go for bsnl.
Problems with sify broadband is that it is given to cable TV operators who use substandard wires and hubs which frequently
fails practically every alternate day. Complaints to sify ends with apologies and no action on the ground.

maintainence charges

Hi All
I got a call from my CTO that i have to pay Maintainance Charges to keep the network up. Failing which my network will will not be maintained (ie saying disconected in a polite way).
Sify Customer care also says to pay it up. and its Rs 100/- per month which is too high.
I any one paying some kind such charges. pls post it here with ur city and area. by the way in in B'lore (Kanakpura Rd area.)

heres a tip dont try sify broad band.. sux big time!
crappy customer care there are a million numbers calling u up to renew but only 2 for customer care when ur net goes down..
and then u have to ram ur head against the phone for them to answer.. this sucks big time... no one actually cares. as long
as they are paid i suggest DONT DO SIFY ever! im changing to another sub this monthend and ill take more than 10 of my
friends already using who are pissed off with it too.. all of them are goin to change to other connections thanks to sify!

Sify sucks. i switched ... and i called them up to tell them that. muahahahaehhehahahahaha. i called sutomer care. and then i called up renewal's. and then i called up dial-up too (repeat evil laugh!!). a blog would be great. also if anyone is interested to stick up a tent in front of their office and live there protesting agaist their ancient laws and their 'oh broadband is so precious and were no.1' attitude ... im up for it. count me in if anyone wants to hold mr.charles by the doodleywoodleys and make him understand tht the 'clearing ur temp. internet folder DOES increase speeds by 50%' funda might work in bostwana but here its worth his willywinkle in rupees. here's my vote for a switcher blog!!! count me in machas!!! whoooohoooo

I have been using/ suffering Sify since 2 years. Now actively searching for an
alternative ISP. Can't put up with their pathetic service and hare-brained cust
care reps any longer.

yahoo r out of bounds. I cannot check my mails on yahoo neither can I log on to messenger. Pray tell me what is the use of such a service?

If there were ever a chance where I were allowed to holler my views out on how
sternly pungent I feel you mom ****ers are, I would gush out every damn
swearword that I possibly could to the saturated best of my vocabulary. I don't
have enough energy left in me to freaking call you infernals up and "narrate"
you my ever-bundling internet server problems due to my poor health or else I
would've spurted my blasphemous self in a manner like no other (pissed) sify
broadband subscriber must've spurted before. Bloody sleazers, all of yah…with no
one in exception! If ever I come across any of your "broadband department mom
****ers" or the so-called 'customer care agents" (who by the way are still
feeble enough saying "sorry, some temporary problem"), I would skin you *******s
alive and that would only be me getting into the heat of the moment. Does anyone
in your brothel-department know what it feels like being dipped in salt after
your ass has been whipped about a dozen times a minute? Feel bloody free to come
over or reply back to my e-mail to gain some intel on how to skin your mom
****in' selves!

I've been having "browsing" & "connectivity" problems for more than 10 days now
- for the skillionth time - from the cursed time I've done business with you
sleazy faggots. Repeated calls, formal complaints, local cable operator checkups,
"restraining my own self" for a time period, being consoled by fallacies like "temporary
mother ****ing server breakdown" and whatnot… My head is spinning, my hands
shaking, my mind is on fire when I roll back all $@@#% thoughts to type these
back down to yah ******* heads.

You shit-ass **** ups have realized more subscribers than you could presently
accommodate and now have the customer care department actually not to "solve"

connection … because of which I chose your bloody Rs. 995/- package for

Net not working

I paid Rs. 2050 to get Sify internet installed. The net worked only on the first day and after that it never worked. It has been 2 months since then and i have made innumerous calls to Sify customer care centre but have got no proper response from them. I need my money back now or else would be compelled to take legal action.
