I am Sify broadband customer for the last 13 months

I am Sify broadband customer for the last 13 months. I am in Chembur, Mumbai and the last mile connectivity is provided by the local distributor.

For the last 13 months, I have been renewing my connection every month through Internet and paying by Credit Card. (Rs. 595/- month)

For the current month, I have renewed 3-4 days back and is valid till 24th April' 06.

Suddenly, two days back, at 10.30 in the night, a collection thug comes from the local operator and hands out a receipt for Rs. 695/-and intimidates us to pay.

The next day we got a call from the Sify engineer, saying the if we do not pay the fee the wires will be cut. And the same day the wires were actually cut. Now I don't have a connection while I have paid for the connection till 25th April.

For the last 13 months or so, there was no service from the local operator. We were never told that we need to pay separately to the local operator. We were given the option to renew through internet, which is very convenient for us and we we followed the same.

We had problems with Sify from day one and once we had to write to the CEO directly to get the problem sorted out.

Can someone tell me whether there is an government body (like TRAI) where I can take this complaint to? How do I get Sify to respond to this and take appropriate action?

I am a victim of Sify Broadband client software

I am a victim of Sify Broadband client software, what a pathetic piece it is. It keeps on automatically log in to the sify web site and worse after I log out it gives some illigal operation window, so that I had to restart again. Please if any one could suggest some remedy regarding this, kindly mail me at siddharthab19@yahoo.com.

myself staying at navi mumbai.as sify says the 64kbs plan have night unlimited download and sunday also unlimited.but they have deducted the days from my accounts on basis that i have used more MB on sundays.they have deducted 11 days from my account.so plz help and tell me the way to recover my account.

Sify owes me RS.15000

BSNL does not cheat people like SIFY! Sify owes me RS.15000 as the high voltage through the SIFY BROADBAND LINE has burnt my PC completely. If you dare, publish this here. If sify does not compensate me, Iam planning to spread this news though Chain-mails and through all my other known sources.
Sify does not have any voice to talk about BSNL! Dont ever dare to do so…..

I have a pc with internet connection from Sify

Sir,
I have a pc with internet connection from Sify.
I have taken cable connection from sify for 6 months.
I pay an average of Rs.550 per month.
I have a BSNL telephone connection.
Our area that is Nallasopara in Thane in Maharashtra is having power cuts for about 6 hours per day.
Whenever electric supply is not there, I will not be able to get the internet connection.
When I enquired with some friends they told me that if BSNL connection is taken it will be around Rs.400 per month for 24 hours connection.
When I visited BSNL’s site I found that if I apply upto 31st March the connection is free and thereafter it will be minimum.
But I am not following what exactly I should pay.
Please any body advise me a better cheap way of getting 24 hours unlimited internet connection at home.

SIFY (Satyam) broadband customer

I am a SIFY (Satyam) broadband customer from January 26, 2006. I have four separate broadband connections from SIFY . Ever since I got the connection, there are continuous disruptions in connectivity. Almost everyday i have to call customer care number which is not toll free, they give the same promises adn nothing happens. i just wanted to let people know how unprofessional and useless service SIFY provides. i am finally going to consumer court in pune, as i dont expect sify people to improve.

My internet account back home expired on 18th February

My internet account back home expired on 18th February. They haven’t renewed it despite of getting several reminders well before the expiry date. Apparently they have no intention of making money. Such delays have been persistent for last one year, everytime the account expires. Earlier the holdups would last for a week or two; however, this time they have broken their own record! As if renewing an account is like solving Riemann’s hypothesis. The stupid renewal procedure is another evidence of Sify’s bungling management. I honestly don’t comprehend their concept of expiry & renewal. It should be uninterrupted and straightforward, with users liable to pay every month or any fixed period to avoid disconnection. Here you to have to depend on the local service provider for that. I always make it a point to remind them well in advance to get uninterrupted internet service.
If that’s not enough — there’s a technical glitch at my local service provider’s terminal since 9th March. They haven’t done anything about it.

Don’t use sify supersaver pack

Don’t use sify supersaver pack.(Rs.17/hour)
I was using the sify supersaver one hour-17rs. in a useless franchisee of iway adajan patia , surat.Just after login ,there was a failure of electric supply for 2 seconds and my whole pack value was seized ,because one have to continously use the pack for one hour. The shameless persons don’t use a invertor as such and gives a reply of what can we do if the electricity is gone. THE COMPANY SHOULD GENUINELY TERMINATE THEIR CONTRACT AS THEY ARE IN A SERVICE INDUSTRY AND NOT A GOVERNMENT GRANTED INSTITUTE.

sify doesnt own this guy and its a monopoly

hi ppl,
i live in delhi, hav been using Sify for over a year, works fine for me. a lot depends on ur local cable tv guy who provides the ethernet network, sify doesnt own this guy and its a monopoly(ever seen two vendors for sify in a same lacality?). so if ur cable guy is a paan chewing, gaali spewing bumpkin … tough luck.
sify works best for light users, the kind who use the ‘net for checking mails, reading stuff online.
in delhi, depending on where u live u have other options like hathaway, airtel, MTNL etc.
for heavy users DSL is a good bet, but then again customer care is not something indian isps are known for … so if u find the going tough, u r pretty much on ur own

Sify is a headache

Sify is a headache, shitty service. With BSNL broadband giving all the private ISP players giving a run for their money, one would think the ISPs would upgrade their service to a much more efficient level, but you would be surprised to know that Sify is taking it all very coolly. A friend of mine has a BSNL broadband basic serive (surfing pkg of 400 MB limit) but even then the local Tele exchange officer himself came and checked and rectified the problem when this friend of mine complained of not getting proper connection…go figure, one of the most laid back depts of India is giving such good service and look at Sify. They will send 2 different sets of people to collect money from one end of mumbai to the other, but when it comes to service, they will give you lame excuses like 1. We will look into it.
2. We are looking into it.
3. The techical team is looking into it.
4. It is a local hardware problem.
5. Our local technical team is looking into it.
Pathetic service.
Sify subscribers beware, you will only get 15 days’ of internet surfiing hours from a month’s package of unlimited service package.

used to be Sify Broadband user

I used to be Sify Broadband user before i sifted to MTNL broadband. I’ve 128 kbps unlimited account. I used to get was 36 kbps (4 Kbps). When i complaint to help line no. about the same. They told me that there must be congestion in there server. When I asked how long it will go & what should I do. Surprised to know that 36 kbps is assured 128 kbps was to indicate to the maximum I’ll get. The funniest part of their package was 150 MB restriction. My account expired just in five days just b’coz their LCO didn’t told me about that. Server failure was very frequent. But that’s nothing when you consider above problem.

i have an unlimited night download connection from sify. downloading of any of the iso images from the net invariably takes me 4-5 days coz the sify client logs me out sometime during the night while the cd is being downloaded. this is a sheer wastage of my time and electricity…… any solutions ?

Sify for 7 months in Noida sector - 41

used Sify for 7 months in Noida sector - 41 and believe me Sify sucks. Seems the Sify people laying eggs and don’t have any time to look after customer. Teh cable operator are illiterate people don’t know how to run broadband service. When ever i tried to connect always found it not working. then you call customer support and they take 2-3 days to resolve but within an hour the connection becomes fine. I have reported the problem that most of the time its down so the problem is not of the moment but a big one where connection is not up always. So when u really need net its down, then what is the point of having it at the first place.

better than AMAC or Smac

Another thing, if anyone is having problems with MAC binding, use Macshift. Its a really good MAC address changer my Nathan True. http://www.natetrue.com . Its better than AMAC or Smac and most of all its FREE and works perfectly. I am using one Sify User ID in 3 computers. :D

I hate the Sify broadband client too

I hate the Sify broadband client too. What i hate most is that it opens Internet Explorer automatically and points it to the Sify MAX page filled with ads. Recently they have put pop up windows too which pop up every time i click refresh on any web site.
It looks like as if they are offering the internet service for free and showing us the ads so that they can continue providing us the free service. Also one other thing I hate is this 150MB limit.

sify high speed internet for last one month

I am using sify high speed internet for last one month , and that period , what I have suffered I can’t explain .
Just want to inform people don’t use sify internet anytime.
They have collect 500 rs for installation and 495 for 64kbps unlimited family packege , I think I just waste my 1000 rs.
If there is any real technical guye from sify end can explain how they are running network .
In 64 kbps CAR they given 250 byte download speed , i think 56 kbps modem we connect through normal pstn line it will give us much more download speed.
Now I have decide to switch to bharti or VSNL , people am just writing due to other people not suffer in future .
This is customer oriented era and there is no place for those company who can’t fulfill their commitment and services like SIFY.

first one month of sify high speed internet services

Today I have coplited my first one month of sify high speed internet services and I will suggest all of friends and people who access internet for theire own important perpose, kindly never connect with sify the most worst service i have ever experince for last one month .
I have booked complaind 4 times in a month (invest 300rs only for phone call )but issue not resolve , even i sent all the log that I am getting huge drop in my local gateway my dowload speed 175bytes (where as sify providing me 64 kbps CAR, so atlesr 6 kbps dowload speed expect) , every time customer care people give a fake number , and become relaxed .
For last two days (now the time for renewal comes ) am getting 12 kbps download speed not a single drop in gateway .
Where as the sify technical guye every time asked me there is virus on ur PC , but am not a normal internet user , am also a technical guye and working in TULIP as a MPLS network engineer.
for last 3.5 yrs am working in varous ISP like TISL,VSNL ,Primus so i have littlebit knowledge about networking .
Finaly I just inform the service we people expected from sify , they are failed to provide.
