Horrible Service

I have had very bad performance with SIFY broadband. I canâ??t believe company like SIFY is giving such horrible service.
I have problems with connection every alternate day. The local cable operator always gives me problem.
I hate sify for following reasons.
1. I'm not able to keep the internet connection continuously on using my router. I have to switch on the computer to logon
to SIFY network. If someone is able to do it please reply to avinasht1@yahoo.com
2. I have lot of problems in connectivity. The network at local cable operator (SLV networks) is down.
3. Browsing speeds in evenings is extremely slow.
4. Sify's Technical customer care sucks. They have zero knowledge about connectivity.

Now, I'm planning to change my broadband connection. Any pointers to good service welcome.

Sify Broadband Connection NO MORE safe

Do you believe that Sify BB Cable Connection is Not safe and Sify won't take responsibility for that.
On 29-5-2005 there was a big gale at Hyderabad... and what happened ...as usual ...POWER CUT... But, strange... there was power thro' Sify Cable and the CPU is burnt. :o
Who is responsible????
The Consumer?
That is what Sify means.
Inspite of Complaints ( # 2001623 dt: 30-5-2005 and Phone call to 9866394300 on 29-5-2005 at 8.45 PM) NO RESPONSE to Answer the reason.....Forget the Compensation.

Mails to Sify Broadband

Hi Charu,

My cable was cut on 24th, the hub was switched off on 26th, No browsing could be done on 27th and on 29th, again the cable was cut. I lost 4 days of the 256Kbps extension. How are you going to compensate me for this lapse on Sify's part ? When are you going to solve the above problems on a permanent basis ?

Dear Mr Ramaraj,

Please give me a permanent solution. I will give you an option - Refund my cable charges of Rs 2000/- and the renewal of my subscription (which I have done last week on Charu's insistence) for the current month for Rs 450/- and I would like to discontinue your services.

Dear Charu,

You failed to keep up your promises of Broadband connectivity...I cannot keep calling your CC and others in Bangalore as they have become evasive. My problems are not solved in time like 29th and 30th period. Being a Sunday, I lost precious time for not using the Internet. You have to decide on the above, talk to Mr Ramaraj and see that either you give me a permanent solution or refund my money.

Regards
K S Balaji

Sify Broadband Poem

Though we may be poetic pals, on this I have a different view
I feel that they have taken much more than what they can chew
As it is really good service providers in India are few
When ppl crib about customer service, the retort is "What's new"
As far as SIFY BROADBAND is concerned, anything would be better in lieu
I am not a "whistle blower" though there have been many times I could blew
I don't have a clue
As to what makes you stick to them as glue
They have given me many reasons to be blue
Let pple decide for themselves whether from me or you they take the cue

Knowing you, you may deem that I am being cynical
But I am not being whimsical
Their poor service has been regular not cyclical
Which in India is typical
That deficit should be national obsession not a deficit by the name "Fiscal"

Sify Broadband has worst customer support service

Hello sify user and Net helpers, here I am with a issue with Sify Broadband connection.
I got a message when I connected to Sify three days ago that I need to update the Sify software.
I thought as it was from sify there would not be any issue.
I did as it told me to.
After this I have no cooneciton and whenever I try to open the Sift Broadband icon to go to net, it just comes on the screen for a sec or two and disapeers.
Hell nor sify or any one else from tech team of sify is able to solve this.
I have deleted the entries of sify from my registry and also removed the sify from my PC completely as I was told it is a registry issue by someone from sify and then I was also told to reinstall the software from one of there website.
I did the same.
I am able to ping sites.
only thing is the support was very bad by them.
Can any one help me on this solve my problem?
Help appreciated on sify broadband.

Sify Broadband : worst customer service

The worst customer service. Very very bad Tech team. I am from bangalore, The sify team here is the worst one. The connection is never stable and if the cable gets cut they take a month to repair. The worst part is they never miss to collect the money for services. The team never picks up the phone, never gives you updates. My mobile bill this time just to call sify is aprox 300Rs. Plss never take sify connection.

Sify Broadband is a mistake

One of the biggest mistakes that I ever did was to actually believe what the Sify marketing guy had to say the first time I met him.
I ended up paying 2500 towards installation charges and got myself a Sify 64kbps "UNLIMITED" pack. Little did I know this was just the start of a 3 month ordeal with the worst ISP in India. In 3 months I have figured out the following:

1. You WILL be capped for downloading. Its a punishment. You can only browse using this connection and any P2p or even normal http / ftp downloads exceeding 150mb per day will get you capped @ a pathetic 2kbps for the rest of the day.

2. The client (BBclient.exe) is one of the buggiest clients I have ever seen. It refuses to stay online for more than 6 hours consistently thanks to a feature called hearbeat which you cannot disable.

3. You get a FREE version of Mcaffee virusscan which is another memory hog (14mb of RAM) and will have to wait 1 hour on the phone with a customer service executive to get it disabled.

4. The cable guy will say its Sifys fault and Sify will point fingers at the cable guy, its a vicious cycle.

5. Almost all ports are blocked and I literally had to fight with the area technical service representative to get ports opened. It took me 2 months to convince him the port was harmless (Ragnarok .. its an online RPG game)

5. Worst tech support department.. all they say is sorry and please. Absolutely no action taken at the end of the day.

All said and done to sum up Sify is CHEATING all users. Please dont fall for the brand name and the image that they portray. They are the most un professional ISP that I have ever worked with. If you are in mumbai try and get yourself exattnet who provide an unlimited 128k (16kbps download speeds) PPPOE package. No client nothing. Just a simple dialer .. minimal downtime .. no port blocks ... live ip address dynamically assigned and complete value for money @ 600 per month.

If you are still with Sify .. Good luck is all that I can say!

Illegal Service Charges being collected by Sify Broadband Dealers

I have subscribed to sify Broadban for 48 kbps ( unlimited )...now the vendor concerned is askinf for an additional Rs.50/- as service charge apart from the Rs 613/-(i.e 556/- + 10.2% service tax )that we are already paying him...is he legally justified to take that amt? Isn't sify paying him any commission
